First let aside your partner, friends and family and think for yourself what do you want to say in those few lines designed to bond both of your together? Older couples tend to be more realistic when writing a vow than the first timers. They include less of the "love, honor and obey" lines and more of a practical ones.

These are the words that truly let those in attendance know the couple has consummated their relationship with one another. Wedding vows are very romantic and meaningful to a lot of people. In fact, during marriage, a lot of women and men refer back to their wedding vows. Wedding Vows' Types

There are traditional vows and then the more personal, untraditional style.
Here's an example of a more traditional vow's image you may use as an inspiration for writing your own.

"God has created me for you and I will always strengthen, help, comfort, and encourage you. Throughout all our life, no matter what may be ahead of us, I pledge to you my life as an obedient and faithful wife. God is my witness, I'll never let you down or cause you a moment of pain ever again. God's Word gives us a perfect example of his loveto all humankind. Shall he give me the strength to show the same love to you, my wife, cherish and love as He did".

If you ask me, it's very traditional yet enlightened speech that will help your guests to shed a tear or two:)

Should You Write Vows Yourself?

Couples should always do what feels right to them. If you feel more comfortable with a simple dinner party or small festive celebration, go for it. This applies to wedding vows as well. Some couples choose to hire a third party to write their vows for them. Are you ready that the most sacred words devoted by you to your future husband/wife would be written by someone else?

Some couples go into a great detail when making their wedding vows before the actual ceremony. First check with your partner – future husband or wife if he/she wants the same as you do. The wedding is a nerve wrack itself, so try to not add additional stress to each other.  Are the wedding vows important to you both or you would prefer to tell it to each other in private? Who knows, maybe you already know how one another feels and don't need all this fluff?

Vow Renewals

For those who's marriage has stayed the test of time might consider marriage vows renewal.
If you want to start again and feel the freshness of marriage, a good long island vacation and your vows renewal might be not such a bad idea.
Think about it: you are in a white dress (again), candles, ocean, white tent and it's just you and him… and your vows. Start again and feel young again! Why? Because you deserve it!
